What I think about it?

These 1950s sparkling earrings are undoubtedly worn by the wife or the daughter of a ship magistrate of the Rotterdam harbour, as these earrings were made by a Rotterdam designer. Very classy earrings that go well for an evening out, to the theater for example.

Pair of 14K white gold dangling diamond earrings, signed by J. Sauer and son of Rotterdam. The earrings have a typical design of the 1950’. The earrings are composed of 3 parts: The top is a double wave with pave set single cut diamonds holding a tapered stick that is connected to a oval shape drop of 10 brilliant cut claw set diamonds with a central brilliant cut diamond. The 3 parts can pivot independent from each other for a maximum dangling effect.

Hallmarks: Dutch hallmark oak leaf for 14K gold from 1953 on the ear pin and safety holder. Master mark J. Sauer and son, Rotterdam (1952/1966)

Diamonds: Top: “waves”: 1 central brilliant cut diamond of 0.06 cts with 7 8/8 diamonds of aprox 0.02 cts. Bottom “Drops”: 1 central brilliant cut diamond of aprox 0.16 cts surrounded by 10 brilliant cut diamonds of aprox 0.08 cts all of SI range and I-J color. Total carat weight circa 2.30 cts. The diamonds are tested and weighed in their setting.

Dimensions: Total brute weight: 8.5 gram. Width of drop: 2.1 cm. Length of earring: 42 mm
